Df

D750 all day IMO, if you can get one for the money. If you do prefer the DF I've seen them advertised for £850, I'd look about a bit more

Head: D750
Heart: DF

I recently got a DF. Let go of all my Canon gear for it and to be honest, I love it. It felt a risk switching systems for something that has a bit of a rep for being somewhat "Rubbish"
It has it's quirks don't get me wrong but can't say I've had anything that's held me back. Did a portrait shoot with it last weekend and it's just a joy to shoot with.

Try one if you can get hold of one in store etc. It may not feel for you. I'd say D750 if that was the case. Pretty hard to beat IMO.
I shoot with a Leica M and MF and 35mm film cameras, so to me, the DF felt a joy coming over the 6D which didn't feel the most exciting at times but was a great performer.

Overall the D750 is a better camera by some folk say the final image from the DF looks nicer. I guess this is subjective though.

I guess it depends what you want to shoot too. If it's Wildlife, sports and fast moving subjects then the D750 will be better. If it's portraits then arguably the DF. If you want your camera to feel special when using it then the DF.

Thanks guys. I've never actually seen one, but there are D750s available to play with in the shops. I'm wondering if the Df can be held easily in one hand, I like a wrist strap and sling bag.

Anyway although that one looks good and at a good price, my next acquisition will possibly be something a little more compact.

Well,I've never handled one but to me it misses in that it is portrayed as retro and small, but it has no special focusing screen for the many manual focus lenses still around, and it weighs more or less the same as a 750.

I suppose the big argument for it is the sensor.

There was one for £599.99 with one of the very big ebay dealers very similar to mpb, possibly the same people imo.
I stay away from the cheapest gear going though, asking for trouble trying to penny pinch with gear

600 for a DF sounds very wrong.

600 for a DF sounds very wrong.

£749 sounds wrong for a D3S too but I have seen one.

Like I said, I stay away from the cheapest because they are worn out and used up rough examples

Only had a play with a Df rather than used one extensively but I didn't like it much. I did like the dials for assorted controls rather than buttons but it felt huge compared to my D750. For the handling, I much prefer the Fuji XT-? which are far closer in size to the F series Nikons of yore. Rather more than £600, although good 2nd hand XT-1s are below that now.

I shoot with both Df and D750. Personally I like the look and output of the Df more, but the D750 is a real machine. It works much more slickly than the Df. Df is great if you have a little more time to consider your subject before photographing. I think the D750 is great to shoot on the fly with much quicker options for changing exp comp etc.

As for comparisons to Fuji, personally the Df maybe not as ergonomic as the Fuji's but the image quality more than makes up for it.
