Just wondered if anyone has used both the Tetanal C41 colourtec kit and the Rollei Digibase C41 and if you have a preference.

I used the Tetanal kit last time but the Rollei one looks like it has a very long shelf life and can be mixed in very small batches, and its a bit cheaper.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers

Andy

Watching this thread with interest, it's time I started to do my own C41 and was pondering on which chemical kit to get?

Yes, I used the Tetenal kit when I first started, then switched to Digibase. I haven't observed any difference in image quality; the longer shelf life was the reason for switching. Only down side is you have one more chemical (seperate bleach and fix instead of blix)

Thanks Kev, seems a small trade off for the extra shelf life. I will get some ordered at the weekend.

Definitely worth it Adrian, makes it a lot cheaper and you don't have to wait. Its definitely a lot easier than I thought as well.

I was going to use the firstcall digibase pouches because they do last a reasonable amount of time. If I ever get my tank working I'll be able to report back :)

I devd a couple of rolls yesterday in tetenal kit that was mixed 13th aug and has seen in excess of 2dozen films pass through it.....a mix of 35mm and 120 along with a mixture of film speeds.

I don't know how much longer it will hold out but i always get well in excess of what thé box says as well as a longer life!
