A few months ago I bought a brand spanking new sexy Canon 5D, used it probably twice and nothing in the last two months!!!! :cuckoo:(due to new job, maybe).
But now I want to go make the most of my purchase, But I'm blank. :(

Any ideas would be very welcome (apart from sell the camera!:nono:)

Try a local park, lots of autumnal colours at the moment. Go to the town centre and try some architecture images, given that the town has grown up a long enough time to have different styles of building. Walk down your street and take pictures of front gardens and houses. Look at the sky and take images of the clouds and their colours. Go to a National Trust property and walk around the grounds taking images; no use going inside as the NT does not allow photography indoors. I hope that helps.

I found a disused industrial depot place the other day. Have a look if there's something similar near you. Huge rusting machinery and lots of straight edges. Can work very well in high-contrast mono. Certainly gave me a kick.

Alternatively, have a look at the work of Henri Cartier Bresson. Now he's inspiration personified.

I'll swap you some inspiration if you've got any motivation going spare.

thanks guys, theres some really good ideas here. Could do with a trip to Bradgate park :)

Bradgate's always a winner, or the beacon (I live down south but I grew up in Loughborough). Loughborough itself is not too bad, there's the carillion in the park in the town centre, the street fair early next month plus diwali lights then christmas lights.

Or you could take some pictures of some good old Melton Mobray pork pies :D

Ok so the 5D is a fab camera (I have one and I love it so I can say that!)

It excels at people pics. So get family, friends, kidnap the neighbours.... do what you need to do to get people in front of that camera. If it has to be candids, go for it.

Try to get some people pics with it. It's really what it was made for.

WHy not some family photos, framed and wrapped afterwards for christmas presents?? Then the camera is paying for itself.
