Hi all,

I am on a 3 week break from work, and would love to get out and get some shooting done.

Not too fussed about the weather, this could prove to offer some real good shooting opportunities...more importantly I'm after locations.

I'm in Staffs, but want to travel into Derbyshire and up into the hills to get some nice scenery, can anybody suggest some decent locations/walks that might offer some opportunities?

Many thanks in advance

Dan

Dan,

There's loads of places to visit in Derbyshire for breathtaking scenery and historic buildings.

There is so much to see and do so have a look at the following site and I'm sure you'll find something to do.

I would recommend going to Castleton, Buxton, Chatsworth House & the Derwent Valley Dams. This is where the Dambuster raids were practised as Howden, Derwent & Ladybower were very similar in design.

You could just imagine the Lancasters flying down the valley in the 40's scaring the locals

There is also Eyam where the locals stopped the plague from spreading to the rest of the country back in 1665.

Lots to see & do. Enjoy.

Cheers,

Adam.

Adam, exactly what I wa slooking for mate, thanks very much indeed ;)

I will hopefully post up some results soon hehe

Cheers,

Dan

I'm off to the Peak distict Saturday for 4 days walking and cycling, we're camping at a site in Edale, just hope the weather holds.

Yesterday I went on a walk with the RPS Nature group. The location was the Wye valley - starting at Millers dale at an old railway station.

This is part of the Monsal Trail.

Lovely area with some nice old quarries to explore.

Get yourself into Matlock some really really nice views there, some quality pubs to :p

Go and see the old power station cooling towers at Willington - they're massive!

Wow, cheers to everyone for the great info given, just what I was after.

Rich, awesome mate, thanks for those ;)

And to you Lammie :D
