I prepped an XPS 13 for an end user yesterday and grew suspicious when I saw "Dell Data Services" and "Dell Foundation Services". Both programs have vague names and no descriptions. An online search didnt really yield much about what they did. I uninstalled both but released the laptop before checking the certificate store. Hopefully recall all five of the XPS laptops we have issued in the last five months.
 
We do that for desktops, but we have so few laptop users it's not thought worthwhile.
And it doesn't defend against BIOS "rootkits" as featured in recent Lenovo laptops. Who know's what OEMs are going to spring next :)
