Dell monitor problem

I have a Dell 2407 monitor. My pc running windows 7 64 bit edition has been blue screening and last week it would not boot up at all. My friend did a fresh install and used it over a few days with no problems. When I got it back it blue screened on using my Dell monitor, which has led to believe that the monitor has been the problem all along. At the moment I am using a spare monitor with no problems. Any comments on this re a fix would be welcome.

Also if I use my sony led tv as a monitor can it be calibrated using a spyder?

id be surprised if it was the monitor causing the blue screen to be honest..

unless - do you use the monitor USB? is the screen much higher res than the spare? have you loaded the driver for the screen?

id update your graphics drivers first off personally.
