Deleting Filters?

My CS2 is brimming with filters. There's all the ones which came packaged, plus others which I particularly like and use that I have added. Now it seems to me that if I get rid of all the c**p I don't use CS2 should at least open a tad faster and certainly clean up the Filter menu. Does anyone see a problem with this - like maybe CS2 not running without it's native filters. TIA.

regards

Why not move your plugins to another folder where CS2 is not looking. Then if you want to use them again in the future simply move them back.

You can safely remove them from the plugins folder.
They simply won't appear in the plug-ins menu next time you start it up.

I would create a backup first, but I've removed them in the past with no problems, even the standard ones.

Thanks both of you. I already have my filters and actions backed up - I'll delete the ones I don't use. Thanks again.

I deleted a load of crap filters and actions and CS2 opens in a jiffy now. Thanks.

I've just done the same, from the Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS2\Plugins\ Folder.

Hard to know what *not* to delete with some of the filenames.
Although mine now starts quicker, I'm still having a problem with it "hanging" at the "Initialising..." stage...for a good 4 or 5 seconds. It's only just started doing it the other day (I'd done nothing to my system just prior to it...so nothing to rule out)

Marcel has you hard disk space drastically reduced over the last few weeks? It might be when it looks for space to use, a friend had this on an older version of PS once.
