If I'm in Lightroom and I have a big group of photos which I have done things to... each photo is then named ie, 1006, 1006-1, 1006-2, 1006-3 (where the 1,2 & 3 are copies that have had processing done to them.

If I want to only have the original raws left and get rid of all the bits and pieces where i have been playing about, how do i delete them?

Does it mean actually picking out all the individual 1, 2 & 3 files and deleting them like that, and keeping the originals. It could take ages!!!

I could delete the whole catalogue and then reimport from my dated photo folder on the pc.... but what if it is a collection of churches for instance and they are from all over the place?

In LR2, under "Files" go to "Library Filters", select "Enable Filters".

Then go to "Filter by copy status" and select "Virtual Copies".

This should filter out any images that are not copies. Leaving you free to select and delete them. Obviously make sure it is just the copies that remain before deleting.

What he said above... And don't forget you can flag them all with the X key and then use ctrl-backspace to delete them all...

Thanks guys.... easy when you know how! ;)
