Decided which lights to buy but which lightmeter?

I am buying the basic studio set up from lencarta and i was wondering about a light meter. Can someone recommend one for me please and give me an idea of how much this will cost? Also can someone tell me what the 1 x 16 channel Radio trigger/receiver does?

Sekonic L308s - budget lightmeter that does everything needed for the studio environment.

The radio trigger/reciever is a way of firing the lights without having to have cables etc running from the camera to the lights

I agree on the flash meter. a great little meter.

Everyone seems to use one of those Sekonics, including me. Works very well, a bit over £100 I think.

Radio triggers are for remote wireless flash firing, as said above. The different channels are in case you have interference problems from some other local device, or if you're working alongside a gang of press photographers you each use a different channel.
