hi chris

......was being ironic!

I've spent most of my travels either in Snowdonia - fabulous...lots of sharp, pointy things to climb up and fall down...
Or around Brecon - hate the place - because of the work I was doing - nothing to do with the countryside...I just shudder at the name nowadays...

Dont forget there is the Gower coastline, Rhossili beach and gallery, the Pembrokeshire coast, Tenby, Newgale, Aberystwyth and adjoining areas for the coast, railways, devils bridge, etc etc :D

Which direction are you coming from? North, South or the middle?

Where do I begin? Let me see ....

Pontneddfechan
Gower
Rosellie
Bracelet Bay
Mumbles
Brecon (the village)
Brecon Beacons
Neath Valley
Resolven
Snowdon
Bytws-y-Coed
Tenby
St. David
Solva
Beaumaris
Caermarfon
Caerphilly
Porthcawl

I am sure I've missed a few 100s other things to shoot around there

To narrow it down a bit, if you'd be kind enough to let us know what you'd like to shoot then it may be narrowed down. I've just got back from spending four years there; I only wish I had four life-times for that little small part of UK alone.

If your going anywhere near Cardiff/Caerphilly/Barry etc- I am free on Sunday if you wanna go togging?

If your after a waterfall in Wales and your anywhere near you have to go to Highest Waterfall In Wales i went there the other day there a some wonderful views from the top of the waterfall.

Make sure you get some insect repellent the Mrs got a lot of bites.

Don't count on seeing jets on Sundays (or Saturdays).

I think you need to narrow it down a bit, Wales is pretty big, depending on where your coming from you could spend a fair bit of your day just traveling.

im coming from either tamworth or west bromwich, depending if im home, or at my girlfriends, we plan to get up at stupid o clock, so will have lots of daylight hours, think im going to try the waterfall, then go from there, thank you all for the suggestions, i will post my pics when i come back, thanks, chris

I;ve just had a week in north Wales:

I'd recomend going round the old mines, lots of interesting ones! Look for one called http://www.cwmorthin.co.uk/

From the top you can see this sort of stuff:

Also, the great orm is worth a visit, really nice little curch and grave yard on it:

Have fun!

Many fantastic places in Wales, as somebody else said it's a big place! I like North Wales inparticular, the Great Orme and Little Orme in Llandudno provide some fantastic photo opportunities.

If you only have one day I would suggest West Wales. In a relatively small amount of driving you could cover Mwnt, Bosherston Lily ponds. Broadhaven beach, Poppett sands and Tresaith as well as the Tenby area.

just been to llandudno,

bodnant gardens

anglesey and holytown

it was fab!!

In north Wales, the jets fly through the Nant Ffrancon pass (the A5 south of Bethesda) at below road level (sometimes!). In the same area (Snowdonia) there are stunning views in lots of places, but try the A4086 westward from Capel Curig (on the A5). Excellent views of Snowdon. When you get to Pen y Gwryd, either turn towards Caernarfon down the Llanberis Pass (stunning in itself) or carry straight on (A498) to Beddgelert. Great views, again of Snowdon and down towards Llyn (lake) Gwynant. You might consider riding the Welsh Highland Railway (Beddgelert-Caernarfon) or the Ffestiniog Railway (Porthmadoc-Blaenau Ffestiniog). Both offer stunning views from the train.

I could go on. The Welsh Slate Museum and Electric Mountain (Llanberis). Llechwedd Slate Caverns (Blaenau Ffestiniog). The classic view of Menai suspension bridge from the A5 between Llanfairpwll and Menai Bridge. Portmeirion. Beaumaris. Great Orme, Llandudno.......

You wont do it all in a day though ;) And I've not even touched mid, south and west Wales. As others have said, it's rather more than the size of a county!
