Davinci.... making a start!

I had no idea that video editing was going to be so complicated. I have found a tutorial that is walking me through from the very beginning, which means opening it and I have finally, after several months of trying, managed to get two clips into the programme. Now I have made a mess of trying to make the first cut... so closed it down to start again. I haven't mastered how to save a 'project' yet. I hope they go on to that soon. I have watched the first 10 minutes about 6 times so far... one step at a time. Has anyone got any tips on how to use the tutorial more effectively please? Stopping You Toob and then going and opening Resolve again is proving very time consuming and why I forget what I have just watched by the time it all opens again and I get the clips back in.

It's a pity you don't know someone who could guide you through sat alongside.
Mind I found DaVinci not very intuitive after using Premiere for many years.
I did manage a couple of basic edits before going back to Adobe.

I have used a number of video editors from pinnacle studio, Final Cut Pro,iMovie and others but cannot get the hang of Davinci Resolve.[emoji15]

I found resolve very easy to use, I couldn’t get on with premier at all.. different folks and all that.

Projects save automatically, once you’ve created it.
Import files by right clicking in the media pane, or using the file menu at the top. Drag clips into the timeline. Press B for the blade tool, scrub through the footage with your mouse or trackpad and cut using the blade tool and delete the sections you don’t want by clicking them and press delete key on keyboard. Drag the other clips back to join the previous clip. Thats the simple way. Of course resolve is used by Hollywood studios so can be far more complicated than that

Also don’t close resolve every time you switch between YouTube and it. Keep it open, no need to close it every time.
