Me too, haven't seen or heard anything about him for a while though.
 
Loved watching his programs always full of enthusiasm. My eldest son had the good fortune to meet him on a car stand at the London Motorshow, back in the 90's. My son was about 4 at the time and had his photo taken with David.

I saw the sad news this evening that Professor David Bellamy has died. For those of a certain age, it's another one of our childhood TV stars gone, as well as a much loved botanist and environmental campaigner. I suppose 86 is a good innings, but I think the world will be a poorer place without him.
 
Remember him well. RIP David.

RIP, as others have said an iconic name from my younger days. An excellent natural presenter.
 
I remember him fondly from my younger days.

It was his views on climate change that led to him being banished from television. He dismissed global warming as “poppycock” and said there is “no actual proof” human activity was causing a rise in temperatures.
 
We were talking this morning about David Bellamy dying and our daughter, who is 34, said something that I had forgotten. She said the memory of him that has stayed with her was him examining and talking about plants while lying down in the dirt or on a street.
