Daveb99's '52' Project for 2010 - Week 11 (Candid) & 12 (Produce) added

Aww - I love the duck! Definitely says play to me. Great expression.

.

I agree - great expression on the duck - you have a talent for building a rapport with your models!! Appealing shot.

Also love the beer shot - I'd never have thought to take a photo like that!

Phil

Have to say I really like the mouthwash bubbles. There's more colour and texture to it and I find it more interesting to look at. The beer one is "just" bubbles. Just my opinion of course :)

Play is very good, and as Phil said, you've nailed the expression on the duck :) Nice idea, and well exectuted.

However, in terms of me catching up, I really really like Mechanical. Loads of texture and spot on Aperture for a perfect DoF. The nifty can be a real pain wide open so dropping to f4 has worked beautifully. Favourite shot of your catchup.

Keep it up! We want to see more!

Ian.

While I find the duck shot amusing and well captured, and the chemistry shots interesting and very well captured, the one that really drew my attention and admiration was your mechanical offering. I loved the texture and colouring in the cog along with your very effective dof.

Thanks for all your comments once again - I really appreciate the feedback. I've managed to catch up with another couple of weeks and, for once, I think I might even be right up to date...!

Now for Week 11 - Candid. After thinking I would never get my Candid shot done (lack of time, yet again!) I was walking past my daughter's bedroom door earlier today and noticed her playing with some of her toys. I ran downstairs to get my gear and here's the result.

As for Week 12 - Produce, well I stumbled upon this one as well. Wandering back downstairs (and wondering when I might get to have a go at my 'Produce' effort!) I spotted this - my other daughter's Easter bonnet. I took it from plenty of different angles with different apertures but preferred this one in the end. Both shot in natural light.

Wow, my first foray into your 52, (sorry it's taken so long), and wow!

Each shot is great, really love the duck, great DOF keeping the bath tiles just in focus and lovely bubbles.

All the pictures are brilliant, keep up the great work!

Hi Dave, sorry playing catch up as usual!

Play - Love his cheeky little face and DOF is spot on

Chemistry - I can see why you prefer the beer shot, but I actually like the colours and the intense small bubbles of the mouthwash. Both great macro shots, well done.

Candid - Must say that I think this may be one of your best shots. The black and white treatment works like a dream and it's a really sweet candid shot. Brilliant capture and can imagine seeing this in a kiddies catalogue

Produce - Simple, nice take on the theme but just a little dark for my liking.

Keep up the good work mate.

Cheers, Rob

Hi Dave - love the candid - B&W was a good choice. Produce is an interesting shot too, but I would have preferred it offset by a white background.

Phil

I really seem to have fallen behind with this (sorry Dave)
Big catch up from me.

Play :  Spot on theme and made me smile. I tried something similar in last year’s 52, but it was nowhere near as good as this.

Chemistry : I can see why you chose the beer bubbles – good shot, very crisp.
But I do quite like your mouthwash one too. I like the colour and although the bubbles aren’t as clear it works well as an abstract in its own right.

Candid : Absolutely gorgeous shot. Love it, love it, love it!!!!
It’s definitely one to treasure for years to come and although it’s undoubtedly candid, the composition and the B&W treatment is spot on.

Produce : Good fit for the theme, lovely colour and nicely composed. I’m not too sure on the dark background given the subject matter but that’s personal taste rather than anything else.

Really like you Candid shot Mark, lovely composition and the B&W suits is (I'm assuming as its a little girls bedroom it maybe very colourful and pink making it slightly distracting?)

Your produce shot is nice and sharp and on theme x 2 with easter round the corner,

Well done!

Both really good shots Dave, Candid works really well, and the mono sets it off a treat.

Really do like the candid shot there Dave. Almost fairytale-like with the B&W conversion.

Is that it?

Ian.
