Sorry for the in-your-face-all-capitals topic title but I need urgent help!

I spent all afternoon taking portraits out and about in Glasgow, with alot of effort put into them, went to put them onto a mac with a card reader and POOF! They are suddenly all gone!!!!!!!

It seems to have deleted them all!!!!

HELP! :help::thumbsdown::(

They don't show with the card in the camera either?

No it says, folder contains no images!

Also let me just add this...

I was shooting on my Nikon D200 but changed the CF into my friends Canon 30D and took a few photos with that, those images are still on the card!!! It only deleted the Nikon files!! Which was the majority of the photo shoot!

:bang::bang::help:

I don't know what I'm talking about but when I put a new card in I have to format it, is that so it sets it up with the camera you are using it in? The 30D wouldn't have done an automatic format would it becuase it was previously formatted for a Nikon D200?

I could sound really stupid here!!

Tbh, this was the first thing that went through my mind as well when I read the problem.

Stick your card in your card reader again and check on the PC, it might have put the McCanon images in a seperate/sub-folder on the card and you've overlooked it.

It couldn't have been that, becuase after taking the card out of the canon and putting it back in my nikon, I could still preveiw images. Which was working up until I tried to upload them to the mac.

Anyways...

CRISIS AVERTED! I used a program called "Easy Photo Recovery" and it did exactley what it said on the tin...

Yes it did, it had a canon folder and a nikon folder, the canon retained it's files but all in the nikon folder were deleted. Bizzare!

My suggestion really was an un-educated guess, clutching at straws kind of answer.

So glad you got everything back. I think I would have just panicked and sworn a lot.
