Okay then you lot, heres a bit of fun for you.

I've had this on trickery for a while but I decided its a good idea to put it on here, if enough people are interested we can have the leaderboard and things and perhaps have it made into a sticky somewhere ;)

Answers in a pm to me please, I'll send your score back along with the complete answer list - if you put the title of your pm as the name of the quiz it makes it easier ;)

I'm away for this weekend but am taking my laptop and will reply to pms as often as possible, good luck and have fun :)

The points are divided up into 10 per quiz - 0.5 points for the artist, 0.5 for the song title.

Thats fine matey, I know the movie one is quite difficult to do - really difficult in fact some have said, I thought it was fairly easy when I created it :(
 
me and marcel and DF have sorted the intros etc, some very good ones there, but movies is proving more of a challenge! first one could be one of 2 films, either a comic book hero or a scifi classic

Hmmm, I just tried downloading it on the laptop and it came down okay glo - are you right clicking and selecting save as before you try and open it?

Ive just tried the movies...omg! Im not even going to embarrass myself by sending you my one and only answer to that one, pmsl!!!
 
Just completed all 5 quiz sections, some really good tracks, some I couldnt get at all. Hope I dont show myself up with the movies round... i obviously dont watch enough movies.
 
movies is tuff, very tuff, the rest were 'challenging'

Its brain exercise rather than physical exercise ;)

If there are enough people that like this sort of thing, I'll put up a new quiz on a regular basis, I stopped doing it on trickery because people tended to lose interest fairly quickly - I love making these things and they are a good laugh too.

We'll see how it goes and I'll get the answers sent through to the people who have pm'd me shortly.
 
has bod submitted the admin team group effort?
 
Good stuff, ive got a massive music collection (750gb+), which helped me slightly get some of the track names, when I knew the artist and song, but not the proper title. If you need any rare/obsecure stuff let me know, that will make it trickier for everyone (except me.. :p)

I'm actually after an alternative copy of sultans of swing I heard on a pub jukebox recently, sounded much cleaner and newly updated, can't find it anywhere or which album it was on.

Ive got Sultans of Swing on about 6 albums, that i know of...

I've actually found it a lot easier to do the answers and replies to people who split up the quizzes into separate PMs - if people want to try and do that with any more submissions (I know its a little extra work for you but it makes it easier for me ;) )
 
I think this is a great quiz - it's certainly kept us entertained for most of today anyway :lol:
 
If one of the really kind admins feels it warrants a sticky then I'll make sure theres at least one quiz up per week if not more ;)

Just got my results and I did better than expected on some, but much worse on others...

8.5 / 9 / 5 / 10 / 4 = 36.5/60

Look forwards to seeing this on a regular basis, great stuff.

Just spotted your original post has been updated with scores... nice one.
 
movies where really hard, that and outros, intros and solos were my best bits!

I wonder if the movies one is putting people off, I might scrap that one and redo it this week.

I had a thought about this last night, how about the addition of an album art quiz...

Like this below, easy one just to give you the idea of what I mean.

Thats definately a possibility - if someone else fancies having a go at doing one of those and we'll stick it in this thread I have no problems with that whatsoever - I'll stick to making the audio based ones though because I have no clue with album covers unless they are really famous ;)

Lyrical - I've downloaded and extracted twice but track 8 comes out at 20kb 1 second and no detectable sound - I assume something is wrong?
 
Well if it extracts fine then the archive itself is okay, otherwise there would be a CRC failure when it was extracting the archive, let me just check it.......

Nah its meant to be 20kb, and its only 1 second long.
 
yeah ok with the volume dangerously loud and my ear near the speaker there is feint click :lol:
 
:lol: Definately not just a click (I actually got it straight away from the 1 second, so it was quite an important second :D)

Sounds like something is borked along the way.
 
As I suggested it, if you want I can have a bash at putting a few into a quiz, im not sure how hard to make it, I thought that was easy it was "Black Grape - Its Great when your straight... yeah", but I suppose a lot of folk dont even see the covers any more what with internet downloads of tunes, and also with international users present it may be hard as some albums are released in differant countries with differant album art.
