I really like light painting, this is a good interpretation of the theme and a good example of light painting, i think the only thing i would have probably done differently is crop it a bit tighter, i find the bus and buildings on the right hand side distracting, but thats just personal taste

I like that a lot, great colours. One tiny criticism, it looks a little askew.
Good luck with the rest of them

Both very nice shots there Dan, I think for the theme the first one is my favorite.

Good work :)

Thanks for the comments guys, I agree the 1st shot is more 'on theme' but I just wanted to share the 2nd! :)

didn't get too many strange looks setting up my tripod in central London... Had to wait a fair while to get some shots without people standing round.

Hi Dark and welcome to talk photography.

The direction shot is really well executed, you have caught the movement really well and the exposure is spot on :)

Fear is well processed and fits the theme well imo however, the catch light is not really adding to the picture imo :)

For 'sigh' i've interpreted it at the sound of relaxation. In the hustle and busttle of London I thought one of the most relaxing places would be overlooking the Thames

Liking your ideas so far Dan !!!

Direction - With a crop that would be great... like the colours and exposure

Fear - A real nice shot... no so sure if it screams fear though

Sign - although to me a loose connection with the theme (unless your explanation is read), the shots are really good, the colours, light and composition on the last one is fantastic

Look forward to seeing what you come up with next !!!!!

Hi Dan,

Like these too. Great idea for your direction shot, lovely colours.
The reflection in the pupil adds a sinister twist to your fear shot but I'm not keen on the catch light, can you clone it out?
Sigh, your last shot is lovely.

Carol

I prefer the 2nd SIGH shot but it's a shame the sundial centre pole comes out right on the top of the tower. A step to the right would have just put a bit of sky between them. It's a crisp photo though.

An excellent start Dan. In particular I like the tower bridge shot, really really nice pic. :)

Tower Bridge is a lovely composition and great colour/light.

All the shots are very well taken, I thought I'd commented before but obviously not.

Not sure London and "sigh of relaxation" go together but I'm a bit of a hillbilly so not a fan of cities!

Really good shots. Tower bridge shot does it for me, agree with previous comments about sun dial, still a great shot in my view.

Nice shot, I think though I would have cropped some of the water out as it's a bit too much, I don't think the reflection does enough in this instance to save it.

I think a panoramic sort of crop would work better.

I do like it though.

Direction – I really like #1. The exposure has been well handled giving the subject the right amount of blur

Fear – It’s strange but the right hand most white reflection almost looks like a ghost. Maybe I’m the only one to notice but it adds to the fear factor

Sigh – Whilst I didn’t see the sigh connection, these are both excellent shots. Well done.

Sweet - #3 – the jelly babies shot is a winner for me

Industry – Great shot and well executed B&W conversion

Hi Dan....how on earth have I missed your thread...many apologies :'(

Some fab shots in here.....

Industry....great B&W  only little crit is those marks on the LHS....need cloning out possibly?

Sweet....jelly babies for me....great shot , love it...nuff said

Sigh....a very hard theme & whislst neither shot really shouts the theme to me I really like them....particularly #2...stunning , great focus , lovely n sharp , nice color in the sky....def one printed large & on the wall...excellent image

Direction....another pair of great images...#1 is just superb...great for theme , lovely motion blur but still nicely focused on the centre...great shot

The close up of the fairground ride....love it , great use of DOF, nice detail...wonderful

Sweet - really like no:3 of the bunch, nicely set up and good use of dof

Industry - That's a real nice shot that, agree with loosing a bot of the water, but the B&W processing really sets off the chimney's etc against the sky - Like it !!!

Good job trying to catch up Dan, is tough when you get behind... good luck

Direction, really clear shot of the horses, like it a lot.
Fear, very good interpretation the red eye certainly makes it count.
Sigh, I'm not taken with these - sorry.
Sweet, brilliant shot, very clear and colourful.
Industry, nice B&W.
Sorry to have missed your thread before

Actually took this last week, but did edit it this morning! Is No.1 London Bridge

1st go at HDR, deliberately pushed it but I quite like it.. marmite time I guess..

'Shiny' very nice Dan I really like your monochrome. Would not have worked out this is an HDR. Its very subtle thats the way I like it
