Yes
Both my wife and I have old cars, and mine is going wrong far too often so we are looking at replacing them.
Like many, we don't have a lot of money, and it was suggested to me that I look at the Dacia range.

I need something fairly big to carry a bunch of tools from Cornwall to London every few weeks so the Logan looks good and something like the Duster seems like it might be good for my wife, who does maybe 100 miles a week but may do the odd 300m trip 2-3 times a year.

However, I know nothing about them, but we could in theory buy 2 new cars for around £20,000 - £22,000.
I had been thinking we could get a couple of 5yr old cars for that sort of dosh, and seeing as how we both own cars that are 15-17 years old I don't think we will struggle with something built to a price like the Dacia which seems to be the main criticism from the reviews I have been reading along with a low crash rating which I figure cannot be any worse than the cars we currently drive (Ford Mondeo mk1 and VW Sharan)
So, anyone know anything about them ?

I have a Duster Laureate and love it. Logan owners so far are saying great things about it, especially the mileage on the diesel version (68mpg+), the low crash rating comes from the lack of ESC/ASR in earlier models, otherwise it would rate very highly. New models come with ESC as standard as it's the law now.
I'm a member of the Dacia forum - http://www.daciaforum.co.uk/page/index.html and it's a good place to ask any questions you have.

I've seen the Logan up close and it's got tons of space in it which is good for a big lad like myself. It shares a lot of dash/components with the Duster and Sandero models, one part of the cost saving. Many of the parts are Renault from the Clio/Megane models.

The main thing is to find a good dealer, as with all cars the dealer can make a huge difference and you'll find reviews on some on that site ^ too. Take a good long test drive before deciding too.

That's a great first reply - thanks Hugh !
I'll take a look at the forum.
As for finding a good dealer - not sure how one goes about that as in Cornwall you are limited to a choice of one or two I suspect but maybe there is some wise words on the forum as you suggest.
Brilliant - thanks again !
