D90/Viv series 1 problem.

I sold my Vivitar series 1 70-210 N/Ai mount to a gent with a D90 .
He's emailed me to say that the Aperture ring will not turn when mounted on the D90 , but turns fine off the camera .
This lens was fine on my Fuji S5 .
Any ideas on why it wont work on the D90 ?

it should work fine ...unless the aperture coupler on the lens has got bent
