hi all what is the best to have it set to and how do i change it ,cant see how in the manual, thanks as always

To set colour space, go to the menu, choose shooting (the little camera icon) and part way down you'll see Color space (you may need to scroll), choose that and make your choice there.

As for which one, I use sRGB but I shoot raw mainly so it isn't overly relevant for me.

Page 227 of the manual.

Most people use sRGB.

If the menu is the same as D7000, press the ''info'' button twice and you should navigate to ''sRGB'' from there you can pick, I use sRGB.

sRGB is a popular modern default that suits many output purposes (low-end monitors, web display, auto print lines ...). It depends where you might want to go with your images I suppose (needing conversion to other spaces). It's not life-or-death, anyway.

Hi, If your workflow is via a good monitor and a good in house printer set up and all hardware is properly calibrated etc then you'll benefit from using RGB.

If your workflow is via a not so good monitor or you output your images to the web or a print lab then you'll probably benefit from using sRGB. Most outside print labs work using the sRGB colour space.

Hope this helps.

sRGB (standard RGB) is the standard. aRGB (adobe RGB) has a wider gamut range of which most printers and monitors are not capable of displaying or printing all the colours.
Basically unless you are into high end editing and printing, stick it on sRGB and forget it:)
You won't notice the difference at all.
