D7000 and teleconverter

Please go gentle on me, only my second post on here, I have a D7000 and have just upgraded my lens to a Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 ED VR11, I also have been using up to now a Sigma 150-500.

The question is do I now sell the Sigma and buy a Nikon Teleconverter ?

It seems silly lugging to two around when the converter might possibly do the same job if not better

Depends, if you need the 500mm range the Sigma offers you then keep it because no TC will give you more than 400mm, if you can make do with 400mm @ f/5.6 then sell the Sigma and buy the newer MKIII Nikon 2X TC
