No
does a d700 sync at 1/125 as I was working with a friend today and it was being such an amazing pain above that with no good reason

while my camera worked fine with the same triggers and flashes the day before

I've never had a problem with it at 1/250 - apart from when the batteries in the triggers were on the way out.

What were you using to trigger the lights?

I usually use 1/200 with the same camera and trigger but if I then change speed I also change the sync speed in the menu system - don't know if it makes any difference though.

really you set the sync in the menu? I don't have a d700 but I was helping a friend who does hence why I know nothing about how they work

stupid ****ing nikons, why would you ever want it lower than max :S

you pick a shutter speed of choice below the sync speed, what benefit is a slower sync speed?

Heard of slow sync flash?

I still don't see why you'd need to reduce the sync speed of the camera to do that though. It happens automatically below the max sync speed, seems a strange option to have.

Dragging the shutter then?

so using say 1/100 when sync is 1/200? never heard it called slow sync before but yeah I do it all the time when balancing ambient.

with kev though, why's it in the menu it just happens because the shutter is open longer?
