D700 Grey imports

Prices for the D700 seem to start at about £1560 and go mainly into the £1700's. One dearer dealer I spoke to suggested that the cheaper outlets sold grey imports??!!:bang:

Spot on, but as the pound is collapsing in value (again) the gap will get smaller and smaller over the next wee while, making the grey cameras not worth bothering with.

Thanks - but are they a safe purchase or is their quality or origin dubious. What are the risks associated with grey imports - warranty? merv
