HI Guys,

On my Nikon D70 when I turn the camera off, I can still see pictures remaining on the top lcd?

How do i turn if off, really annoys me lol!

why does it also do this?

It's normal and you can't turn it off, pretty useful feature I think, you can tell even before you pick it up if there's a battery in and a card with enough space on for what you plan to shoot. All Nikon DSLRs I've used are the same.

Pretty sure you can't turn it off. IIRC, it's powered by the clock battery rather than the main one, although it uses power from the main one when the camera's switched on to recharge the clock battery. My D700 does the same thing.

Pretty sure you can't turn it off - a read of the manual should tell you. Live with it!:)

So you don't have to turn the camera on to check how many shots you have left, I guess.

Don't get me wrong, its a good feature just so annoying as i think its taking battery of me.

Not enough to worry about - think how long an LCD watch will run for on a silly little coin battery...

As I explained in post #3, it runs off a seperate battery that gets charged by the main battery but as ned pointed out, an LCD display uses virtually no power anyway.

It's a non-issue. If it was, they would've removed it a long time ago from their subsequent DSLRs.
