D7 and TC autofocus

Just looking to buy the canon l 600 F4 to use on my 7D I assume it will autofocus with a 1.4 TC but not the 2.o TC
is that correct?

7d will only autofocus to f5.6 you will need a 1d body to focus beyond this (center af point only) I had a kenko pro 1.4 and taped the pins (google) and my 100-400 would autofocus but very badly...

You can use the contrast AF in live view, if that fits into your shooting. It's not fast, but it will still work at f/8, or whatever.
