I was all set on the Nikon D5300 but will I miss having to pick AF-S lenses with the D5300 or should I go for the D7000 for full range of lenses? Budget is £800 max for body to replace D60 and zoom lens. Ideally would like a D7100 but puts me a bit over budget.
Lens wise, looking at Sigma 100-300 f4 for £350 which is compatible with the D5300 for auto focus. Also, considering a Sigma x1.4 TC.
I have found a second hand Nikon 80-400 AF for £485 but would have to get the D7000 for AFS. Would consider Nikon 300 f4, but would like the versatility of a zoom lens. Am I missing some obvious lenses in the mid-budget range?
Main use is for wildlife (heading to Vancouver shortly for bears and whales).
Very confused if any one has any advice?
TIA
