I'am not quite sure how to explain this but here goes...When I look through the viewfinder of my camera I can see 5 little boxes which I assume are the focusing areas that I can choose if I wish to but I just noticed a very thin black line that runs from the selected focus area to the nearest edge of the viewfinder. My question is this is it meant to be there?, Do I need to send my camera back to nikon to get repaired?, Is it a known fault on nikons and nothing to worry about?

Thanks for any advice or help.

Thats supposed to be there, nothing to wory about:)

I've seen that on my D50, I believe it is the wire or circuitry that carries current to the lcd's of the focus display to turn them on or off.

Thanks for your help guys. Just checked on another website and the're meant to be there, As Dave says it's something to do with carrying power to the selected focus area

Always wondered what that was  cheers guys
