HELP.:help:
I have used CS3, with Raw/Neff files, for approx 2yrs with my general lower range nikon system.
Used the cf card thro a central hub system into computer= no problems.
Upgraded to a D300S and the raw/NEFF files will not open.
Computer informs me that incorrect system is being used.

How do over come this silly problem?

I suspect the Raw converter in CS3 doesn't recognise the new format of the D300s files.

You'll probably have to upgrade your software, convert RAWs ina different programme or use the adobe DNG converter which will convert your NEFF files to DNG which CS3 will then read properly.

Its because CS3 doesn't know about D300s files. Normally it's just a case of updating the ACR module, unfortunately CS3 doesn't accept the Latest ACR (5.6 I think), which has the D300s information. It's only compatible with CS4.

OK so how do you get round this. Well CS3 will accept DNG files, so you'll need the FREE Adobe DNG converter. ( Free download from the Adobe site) . Convert your D300s NEF files to DNG and CS3 will open them.

Slight upside to this is the lossless compression for DNG files is probably better than the cameras attempt at NEF, so you'll save some disk space.

The alternative is to upgrade to CS4. DNG converter is cheaper. ( CS5 is rumoured to be out early this year as well )

if you use lightroom, you can send send them to ps3 in PSD format, infact with Lightroom, you can send them in quite a few different file types..

This SHOULD cure your problem..
