No
I'm thinking of upgrading my back up body (D200) and would like to stick with DX. There's a reasonable second hand shop in town that has a few D2X bodies for reasonable prices and I have Canon stuff I'm willin to trade for either a D2X or D300.
Which would you go for?

Personally I would go for tHe D2X it can take a lot more knocks

I have the D2Xs and D300

I use the D300 where high ISO matters, and the D2Xs the rest of the time - does that say something?

If I had to stick with just one though, I think it'd have to be the D300 and just accept I can't knock nails in with it the same

The D300 is indeed a very capable beastie better in many ways to the D2X but I use my camera for everything from wildlife to aircraft shots and it does get the occasional knock but I never use it as a hammer :naughty:

Cheers Dave!

Hmmm, I spose for longevity a D300 may be the better option, is there that much difference in image quality Dave? Is the D2X better?

How much are the D2X bodies in said shop as I am after trading my D2H for one

1395 euro's as it's a Helsinki based store, Barney Rubble was selling one here though for £700, maybe he still has it up for sale., maybe send him a PM mate.

Nope - sorry that one went a while back, to be honest with much regret.

I am thinking of chopping my D300 in for one at the moment, but it will be the D2Xs.

In three minds on what to do....

Interesting you should mention that Barney, what do you miss about your D2X compared to the D300?

The first thing is that I have a WT-1 that I never got round to selling.

Secondly, I prefer the build quality

Thirdly, and probably most importantly, I prefer the image quality. I'm also sick of having two sets of chargers and batteries. I know I could invest in the MB-D10 but if I prefer the D2x then why not just get one?

The only thing stopping me doing it is I would lose too much on the D300 and the fact that the d300 is a nice size to carry around on family days out....

Cheers for the info, I know what you mean. How much are you going to try and get for the D300?

Not sure at the moment. I paid £900 for it in may - so somewhere arounf the £725 mark probably. But still in three minds about it.....
