CTR 301P compatible flashes?

I was wondering if the CTR 301P flash trigger will work with just about any flash?
 
Probably best to avoid the old stuff with trigger voltages of 200-300 volts and stick to "modern" stuff, but apart from that they should work with everything except Sony/Minolta stuff.
 
I've just bought some tonight after my Cactus v4 trigger decided to stop working all of a sudden, I will be using them with my SB-24 until my uncle finishes the ones he's building for me. I noticed on the eBay page I bought them from there was a list of compatable guns'

-Canon SpeedLite 580EX II, 580EX, 540EZ, 520EZ, 430EZ, 430EX, 420EX, 420EZ, 380EX

Mine have been OK until this happened (just OK, not great, few misfires etc..) then the trigger just stopped working all of a sudden, went to Maplin's to get a new battery but that didn't help. After reading what others say about them I decided to go with a set of the triggers above, worth a shot for £20 (so that's £70 I've spent on cheap triggers so far, not so cheap anymore!)
 
I have been using my CTR's with allsorts of older flashes. I haven't found one that they are compatible with yet. I have read a lot of bad stuff about the new V4's, which is a shame because they were touted as the cheap solution to triggering off camera flash. Ah well, get what you pay for i suppose:shrug:
 
OK I've just bought these triggers and can't get the suckers to work with my SB900's!! Can some one give me an idiots guide to setting them up! I've had a go and cannot get them to trigger. The transmitter appears ok - the light flashes when you hit the trigger button, receivers are receiving something because the red test light on the flash guns will flash quickly but the flash won't fire! I'm sure I'm being the dumb ass rather than the units not working!!

HELP! :D
 
Should fire at the "on" position....

If you've got a pc cord try connecting the flash up with that to eliminate the hotshoe on the Rx as being the problem

hmmm tried again! Still no go! The cord I got aren't (or don't appear to be) compatible with my Flash guns! :( Looks like they'll be going back!

So Flash earn yourself a sale and recommend me something in your wares!!
