Since sorting out my newish machine CS5 appears to never work. Works fine on my partners MacBook Pro, but my Sony Vaio will not work. The only links on Google I've found hint that its the Open GL Draw options and a graphics card issue. The top and bottom of it is layers and previews of work being done do not show. So magic wand/cloning etc are all left to the imagination till after you click on the select tool again. No updates available for my version as its running all updates.

It did improve slightly when I stopped the Open GL but still unusable. Any suggestions?

Oh and Gimp works fine and so does LR3

I might just being very silly, but surely they're two different versions mac/pc?

I can honestly only say try updating drivers and maybe try re-instal?

Edit* I'm fairly sure without Open GL activated you won't have access too animations tools, rotate ect. But I can't see that having any harm with the magic tool ect..

All the functions do still work. They just don't display until after you click on the select tool. It's really strange.

Yes different versions. The Mac one is through my partners work. Really frustrating as I'm sure it's all about the Open GL. The graphics card is up to date so no other options than re-install but after 3 attempts I can't see it changing anything. Would LR ACRs and Bridge affect it? I chose to use CS5s as obviously a later version so I would have thought LR would be the one struggling using a newer version?
 
Some tools won't show if you have your caps lock on, make sure it's off, hope this helps.
