CS5 Error message "A required operation is unavailable."

Hi all, i am opening a scan of multiple pictures and am running the automate service "crop and straighten photos"

But i get the following error message

"A required operation is unavailable."

Strangely, i also get the error in CS6 beta?

Google was not my friend, just 4 results and no help...
