CS5 Bridge Question

I had PSE 8 (with CS4 Bridge). I recently purchased CS5 Photoshop and Bridge. Since I am in education, I bought the package and installed it first as a trial until Adobe sent me the serial number. Today I got the SN and completed the process.

This morning, I thought I had Bridge working fine; now, after registering the SN, I can't see any previews of my photos in Bridge. For the most part, all I see are blank pages with a corner turned down. Jpegs and a few NEF files do show, but the large majority of NEF files do not. If I double click though, the photo opens in Camera Raw, so the photo is still there.

Anyone out there have a solution, or at least something I can try? I've not yet uninstalled PSE 8 and CS4 Bridge. Could that be the problem?

Thanks for any insights.

OK...If I remember correctly, a RAW file (.NEF for Nikon users) has a small .jpg thumbnail embedded in it. That's what your camera uses to view a shot you've taken, and I'm thinking that's what Bridges must use, too, for previewing. For some reason, those thumbnails have become invisible to the program. Old files from years ago, or new ones from minutes ago...if shot in RAW, the computer refuses to "see" the thumbnail. It will, however, show me thumbnails of .jpg's and .psd's for review in Bridges.

So...can anyone tell me how to make those thumbnails visible again?
Thanks...

Try clearing the Bridge cache. In Bridge (not mini-Bridge) go to Edit-->Preferences-->Cache and click the Purge Cache button towards the bottom of the dialog. This will force Bridge to rebuild the previews it uses.
Restart Bridge, May be of help.
