or if your a student you get a discount.

I'm not sure if you shoot in RAW but if you do you might want to look at Lightroom as an alternative and the use Elements 5 for final editing. I got Lightroom a couple of weeks ago and have been impressed by what it does particularly if you have a large amount of images to process.

In my opinion Elements 5 is probably all you need as CS3 has got so much functionality that you probably won't use most of it, certainly that is my experience from CS2.

Link to how you can buy in a roundabout way a student copy which is the same as the full version.

A number of us enrolled and completed the OU Digital Photography course and discovered that it entitles you to student discount from Adobe. I think I paid around £120 + OU course fee of £155 = £275, less than half price of the original. You can also pay for the OU course with Tesco Vouchers.

The course uses Elements 5 and you get your own free copy. If you already have one, you may be able to sell on if the software rules allow it. Long winded I know, but I'm Indian!:bonk:

Cheapest legit way I know to have CS3.

Out of interest [read it nosy ]
Indian as in with Dot on forehead or feathers

Depends on the outfit :naughty:

Skypilot, don't know the answer to that one, won't cost you anything other than a bit of time to try as you can send a mail if you can attach student id type information otherwise it needs to be faxed.

I can recall a student section you can go to on their site.

CS3 has a pretty good RAW editor but I have no idea about CS2 though. Up till I got the students discount I was using paint shop pro XI.2 and Elements 5 I agree that I will never use anything near the "capacity" of CS3 but at less than £150 for the extended version whats a person supposed to do

Edit just checked the web site and I see that its gone up 50squid cheeky buggers :D
