Having just got my new Canon 7D, I am having difficulties transferring the images in raw to CS3. They load onto Picasa3 and DPP, but CS3 says it`s the wrong kind of document??? Is this something that other people have encountered ..or is it my CS3 ? I can load them into photoshop via DPP, but in the past my raw files ....say from my D1 or Ds 1 have gone straight to Adobe bridge.

Any help that you can give me guys and girls would be very much appreciated as it`s a mystery to me !!

Because it is a old version of photoshop it is not compatible with files from the 7D.

You will have to convert your files to another format, use DPP or update photoshop.

you probably need to download a newer version of adobe camera raw from adobe

Thanks guys...i had a thought in the back of my mind it may be that...oh well i`ll look for a newer version of camera raw.

I knew i could rely on you guys..thanks a million

OK. Been asked on here a couple of times...

The 7D RAW format is not compatible with CS3. The version of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) that is compatible with the 7D is only compatible with Photoshop CS4 :bang:

Not to worry. As correctly said above you could use Canon DPP to convert to JPEG.

If you like using the Photoshop ACR Raw import then you will need to convert the 7D RAW files to another format such as Adobe DNG.

The Adobe DNG converter is a free download. I had a similar problem when I upgraded to my 7D with Lightroom version 1. I had to convert the 7D Raws to DNG before importing them into Lightroom.
