crop and resize

hello everyone if i take a photo of a bird and its not as close as id like how do i crop and resize please sorry if this has been asked before

unfortunately I don't have any knowledge of that. only GIMP and PS i'm afraid. Crop and Resize in "Micrsoft Office Picture Manager" is fairly straightforward. assuming your using a Windows PC ofcourse? failing that, maybe a download of GIMP?

GIMP is a good free editor. If you are a beginner to post processing then you could try Picasa which is also free, it also processes RAW files and has a simple set of controls.

I know nothing of the software you mentioned, if you are a beginner I recommend you download Picasa http://picasa.google.com/thanks.html and play with the options. It is a very easy piece of software... if you download it, have a go and need more help then ask.

1. Open the picture

2. Select the crop tool

3. Crop as required either manually or via presest sizes 4 x 6, 5 x 7 etc

4. To resize, select the resize tool

5. And finally, select the size you require.

I seriously recommend you get GIMP. it's totally free and easy to use! http://www.gimp.org let us know if you still have any problems and i'll talk you through a crop/resize.
