I think I'm slowly getting a website together, even though it's been two years in the making!

Currently I'm using pixelpost with switchy theme, the site is below:

Any / all feedback welcome. Not many photos on the site, I'm mainly using my flickr page until I eventually get a web page written.

Thanks in advance

Your "Photography" is lacking an h ;)

Apart from that, I like it - nice, clean and minimal :)

Is it all your own work or did you use a template? A website is something I've been meaning to get on with for a fair while but never learned how..

Superb website! Love the minimal look and feel of it! I want one now! :D

How did you do it?

As noted earlier, it's "Brian Innes Photograpy" on all pages and doubly so on the 'about' page.

Apart from that....

Personally I think it looks great, and works well - I much prefer the 'dark' theme, and if it was down to me, that would be the default theme.

An excellent site that does nothing to detract from the images.

The web site works fine but your images don't have any great impact. We all find that part tough to be fair.

Landscape images should have that wow factor..... Some on your flickr site are nicer.

What's the plans for the site?

I like the layout and content as its very simplistic which is where a lot of overcomplicated websites fail. Its easy to navigate and its easy on the eye

As far as design goes, I can see you have used a pre made template which uses tables to layout the elements. Although this serves your purpose, if you wanted a professional looking website, you would avoid tables.

Also for a pre made template, it fails HTML validation

I know people keep saying to me "slow down, you'll take better pictures". But two years?! Woah! That's approx 5 months per image in a website that's just a template. And I won't even mention the typo! I have to ask, but what's taken the time?

Good navigation and functional.
Overall look a little bland.
Headings and navigation buttons moving slightly when navigating - design fault and a little annoying. Need to fix.

Thanks for the replies. Regarding two years and only a few images, I've a lot more images on my flickr site, the ones on the main website are just temporary while I try and get a site together. Why has it taken 2 years, I guess lack of motivation for website coding!

However I'm still not happy with it as it's obviously a pixelpost website with a template.... Not sure I have the knowledge to write a photo gallery website from scratch bearing in mind I want to use a database type backend for the photo storage, I'm actually not sure whether I actually need a proper website when flickr would do...
