Going to cycle to Dedham

"9.0 mi – about 2 hours 57 mins" (walking time)

AM I MAD!!

But I dont want to spoil such a lovely day stuck in the house

I'm appauled you'd even consider such an undertaking.

Well then, get my appualing nature out of this joint :p

Bloody hell that was a horrid bike ride!!! 3 hours there and back

the weather hasn't been much better down South. Just got in from a 15 mile walk along the North Downs Way (I'm rather very tired!)

Lovely going there. As soon as I arrived the sun went in!!! Sods law eh!

Well since the weather was so good *cough* I decided to go out for a blast round some of the local trails on my bike.

1 hour later and you can see skin below my knees for the mud, it took quite a considerable amount of time to wash it off and I feel bloody great!

I feel shattered!!

Yea, wearyness is creeping up on me now. I didn't even go as far as you!

I got their. Weather was crap staed for 30 minutes or so went back

Buggered my knee up and am in agony!

I am 16 o.O cant wait till I have a car. I had this conversation with my self on the way there

I used to cycle 18 miles to work every day (Brighton to Burgess Hill the long way, avoiding the A23) - took me 40 minutes - what's wrong with you?

I cycled 18 miles yesterday. I have no car. Idont often travel on my bike super far. up and down hills country lanes with horses

ahhh...It'll take about a month to get your 'legs' - the worst thing is saddle-soreness - for a few days it'll feel like you're sat on razor-blades, no matter what saddle you use...
Persevere...after a couple of months you'll be like the cycle couriers round London and Bath...

Lots of short, hard rides is the best way...go out for an hour and hammer the bike around town as hard as you can - in the saddle, out of the saddle - use a variety of gears and when you're tired, 'spin' in a low gear (i.e. pedalling fast but not going fast).

I have bike legs. My legs are hench :D

9 miles. Pah, I cycle that almost daily going to Oulton. Then 9 coming back!! THe first 9 is uphill, on the way home its down :)

I have managed to get my PB down to 30 mins :) (that is uphill!!)
