Crediting a Photographer

I employ a freelance photographer to shoot various stuff for us, much of which is used by media outlets across the world.

My organisation has copyright of all the images but I'd also like to name the photographer in the credit - is there a standard way of doing this? I've seen (C) ABC Ltd/Joe Bloggs but I don't know if that implies shared copyright?

It doesn't matter if you imply joint copyright ownership so long as both Joe Blogs and ABC Ltd understand the position - which would be made clear in the contract. It is quite normal to display moral rights as well as copyright.

The '[emoji767]' doesn't have any legal standing in England.

He's not fussed but I think he should be acknowledged as it's his work - if someone sees the images and wants to commission the photographer then I'd like to be able to make it easy for them.
