Just a question regarding the use of a credit card to purchase gear, I'm looking to upgrade and have a 12 months 0% card upto £2000, what I want to know is that certain sellers won't accept the card but will other ways, take Kerso for instance, how would I go about using my card to purchase from him? is there a way of transfering money from the card into my bank?

TIA :)

paypal????????

don't know if Kerso accepts that but if he does, then set up your paypal account with that card and go from there.........

Just a word of warning about the 12 month interest stuff........ make sure it's cleared in time as often the APR at 12 months and one second is pretty strong!

Yeh I've read all the small print on this one and will no doubt pay it off before, as for paypal, can I just add this card to the same account I've already got?

Yes you should be able to, just make sure you choose that card when choosing payment option.

Kerso does accept Paypal, but he has a surcharge of (I think) 1.5% due to Paypal fees - worth e-mailing / PMing him to make sure

Enjoy your spending spree

Don't leave it till the last minute with paypal, it can take time to get a new card set up.

Pay pal also will charge you for using a credit card.

I think Virgin allow you to transfer balances from uou C/C to your bank account! If you get a 12 month 0% on balance transfers, transfer the cash then pay kerso by bank transfer!

You will pay 3 or 4% on a balance transfer though, and never buy anything with the card as you will pay interest on it until the 0% balance is cleared!

Still a bit confuzled here :bonk:

Right, it's a Tesco 12 month 0% card with £2000 limit, what I'm after is a 5DMKII and I've also got a bit cash to pay towards it aswell, what would be the best way to go about purchasing this? I'm clueless when it comes to CC/Charges etc probably my first and last to be honest but I've been hanging on too long now for one (the price will probably drop when I get one :D

Cheers

Pay pal also will charge you for using a credit card.

That would depend on the person to whom you're sending money.

Pay pal also will charge you for using a credit card.

Only if you send the money as a "gift". If you are paying for goods or services the payee gets the charge.

One other thing, don't use your CC like a cash machine and take cash out - Money out will incur a daily charge too!

Paypal should be ok if you set up your CC. Pay what you want to pay with PP and use the cash in your bank to do a bank transfer to Ian (Kerso).

Ian should be able to explain what you need to do and will give you the account details.

I assume that using paypal in this way is not like withdrawing money on your credit card? Cos they do charge a silly 28% (ish) from the day you take the money off on cash advances....

I got a tesco credit card with 12 months interest free to buy my Mac - just make sure to pay the minimum each month otherwise you get charged monthly which is unlike most interest free which will allow you the whole 12 months without making a single payment.

I planned to pay mine off after 10 months of equal payments so it gives me a couple of months extra to allow for a catastrophic month - 3 new tyres, car insurance, mot and service, then a week later a £10 part went but needed to have all electrics checked costing over £100 - but I still made the regular payment of £150 off the so was quite pleased

I just pay my card off every month and live within my means.

No it's not, as it's classed as a payment to a person/company, and not a cash advance as from a cash machine :)
