I had the offer from Adobe to upgrade PS elements to CS4 at half price. Good one, or so I thought. I went on-line to order it, got the order acknowledgment and then waited. (and waited)
Today I try to use my credit card and it is declined :bang:
The Adobe order triggered the "unusual on-line purchase" criterion so they stopped my card and did not tell me :bang:
Now that I have got my card back, Adobe have cancelled my order because of non payment but because I have triggered the "one order per customer" criterion I cannot re-order using the half price offer :bang::bang:
Sorry Adobe but CS4 at £550, you have to be kidding me.

I knew it must have been too good to be true.:'(

It has nothing to do with the credit card now, that is fine. It is just Adobe not recognising that a cancelled order ought to mean that the offer has not been taken up and is still available.

ridiculous. Might aswell make an official complaint see if that gets you anywere

The card thing happened to me once in the past but rather than simply decline the transaction, the card company phoned me to check that it was genuine. I remember thinking "that's effeicient of them"

I've never known of a cc company stopping payment for that reason without attempting to communicate with the customer. Call them, speak to a supervisor then ask to be passed further up the food chain. Their inability to correctly handle what is now a fairly common occurrence has cost you £275. What are they going to do about it?

really?? I thought this was becoming one of the more common complaints about banks - Their fraud detection software isn't that intelligent and despite what they say they only protect themselves so if your £275 they will try and make out its your problem.

Cheers

My card did this when I bought by drumkit last year. I was actually quite happy with it TBH (****ed off too though lol) At least they're doing something to try and protect you. Although I can imagine how embarassing that must have been.

Well folks, two weeks on and there is a happy ending:)
My credit card company sent me an e-mail saying sorry to have upset me but they have to go throught the motions of checking for fraud and the original Adobe request did not meet some of their criteria so that is why they stopped my card.
I sent Adobe a support log asking for the order to be re-instated and waited (10 days) and then a nice man from Adobe rang me and asked if I still wanted to purchase. Yes said I, and I am now the mind boggled owner of CS4 and LR2 for a knock down price.:woot:
All I have to do now is to learn how to use them, no excuses any more!

Cool
I am glad it all worked ou in the end
