Yes
Obviously - Im putting my camera down for a while but i've got a game this Saturday (It would be a bit unprofessional to turn it down now)
So....
In my bid of a 'Spectacular' comeback, I am aiming to shoot some football with a 22-55mm lens.

Any idea's on shots? EDIT : Don't give me idea's, I need to find my own!

Do you think it's a good idea, should I still take my 300mm?

Mark, part of my advice should have just said 'get out there and do it' as well ;)

Yeah, As I mentioned in my previous post I've got two games left.
Trying to cause a debate?
:gag:

- I'm giving up photography
- I've got a game this saturday
- Then I'm giving up photography
- But I've got a game on Tuesday too
- Then I'm deffo giving up photography
- But I'm making a spectacular come back
- When I've made a comeback I'm selling all my gear
- The I'm buying more gear
- Then I'm giving up photography
- Then it's comeback number 327

If there is one pice of advice you need to listen to Mark it is to take a step back from the computer (including this forum and Facebook), have a long hard proper think about what you want to really do over the next couple of years and actually do it. You give the impression of wanting the world to kno what you are doing before you even know yourself. It's getting a bit tedious.

Sorry Mark but this thread is another example of what you keep doing wrong.

Your making a fool of yourself with this constant attention seeking rubbish.

If your ever going to make it as a sports tog you really need to keep a low profile for a while. LISTEN to the advice that people have given you and give yourself a good grounding in the basics of sports photography.................................

Which is precisely what I've said to Mr McLoughlin this morning. Let's not turn this into a witch-hunt guys. If Mark is sensible enough (and has finished reading the mammoth PM i sent - which ran to 2.5 pages on Word) then he'll be doing exactly what you've suggested.

Let's not kick somebody while they're down...we're the best of the "Speciality Discussion" groups on TP and I'd like to keep our reputation a good one.

There's no football in my bedroom at the moment
No...Im aware of what you mean.

Staff Edit: if you cannot input constructively, don't bother inputting at all thankyou

Apologies but I think that is a constructive contribution. Mark is a time-waster and should be told. There are countless threads where many people have stated the same.

After his last thread of "woe is me, I don't want to do photography" to then come on and ask for advice is, quite frankly, pathetic.

If it's ok to heap praise on someone then it is also ok to criticise them.

But sometimes the conversation moves on and you should move on with it. To just repeat what has already been said is not constructive in the least. Move on and let him move on as well.

Its clear you obviously have a problem with me, I'd like to apologise any problems i've previously caused.

For christs sake Mark...I said this in my PM to you.

Stop apologising for everything and prove people wrong with your photos...I'm still waiting, as I'm sure others are.

I actually agree with what Inkiboo has said. At the moment you are a time-waster. You need to prove a lot of people wrong.

However, as I said...the conversation moved on and I don't want us to get a reputation as people who destroy peoples dreams in "Talk Sports".

So in short your basically suggesting I leave the forum?
"to then come on and ask for advice is, quite frankly, pathetic."

Mark dont take my reply as a pop at you because it is not.

The only 'people' who destroy dreams are those who dont listen or put into practice what they are told. For example if I was being told that I must stand behind the goal for penalties and behind the corner takers at corners but I chose to shoot from the halfway line then whose to blame, not the person who gave the advice but the receiver.

I am 57 years young and I would have given anything to have had the opportunities that Mark is getting - please Mark DON'T THROW THIS CHANCE AWAY, YOU WILL NOT GET ANOTHER - even now I would love someone to take me under their wing and teach me, maybe not to become a pro togger but to get better shots and enjoy my photography more.

So James its not the teacher whose to blame but the pupil.

Mark I dont think he was saying leave the forum but to stop saying things like "Oh I'm giving up photography, thats it" and then the next day your back on here asking for advice and guidance.

Its like the story of the boy who cried wolf too many times, he kept calling out saying he was in danger and people would rush to help him and realise he was not in danger and after quite a few false alarms he really was in danger and people just said "Oh right yeah" didn't go to his aid and it was to late.

Don't blow it Mark, because you will regret it, trust me I know.

Good luck mate.
