Hello peeps,
I have a question for any Photoshop gurus that may happen to frequent these parts...
When I'm editing portrait shots I sometimes create a quick selection around the subject, then invert it and create a new layer via copy, leaving me with a layer of everything but the subject, so I can add a curves adjustment layer linked to that selection and brighten it (washing it out a bit so that the subject stands out).
What I want to be able to do is to go back to the selection I made (around the subject) and "un-invert" it, leaving me with just the subjects selected, so I can then create another layer and work on that separately from the blown-out background layer I just created, i.e. I want to be able to work on the subject and the background as two separate layers, without having to go back and re-select the subject again using a quick mask.
So, if that makes any sense whatsoever, and if anyone knows a quick and easy way to do this, please chip in!
Feel free to mock me and call me names, as I'm sure there is an easy way to do this, but I'm buggered if I can work it out.
