Hi Guys,
i'm really keen to set up a small budget home/shed studio and have just bought a "courtenay 8000s" light and back drops, umbrellas and soft box from a bootsale yepee!!BUT i do not have any insturctions with the light and woundered if anyone could guide me through the "do's" and dont's" so i dont blow it up or worse? or if someone has a manual there could scan and email to me ,that would be fantastic!
Cheers Andy

I used to have one of those, first class gear for its day.
From memory, full, half and quarter power settings, modelling lamp was a 100 watt E27 bulb, 2 synch sockets (don't know why there were 2) and that's about it. Flash ready light, non-switchable slave sensor.
Output was 800 J, very little considering its size. The large polished reflector gave out exactly twice the light quantity as the smaller annodised one. Very few accessories were available due to the unique bayonet fitting.
Nothing much to learn, nothing much to go wrong.

cheers Garry,
i'll try and give it a go tomorrow.
many thanks Andy
