At Paisley Sheriff Court the other week, a police witness was explaining that the offensive weapon, a miniature baseball bat, which had all the features of a large cosh, had been found, after a search, in the accused's boxer shorts.
"Did the search continue?" asked the lady fiscal.
"Yes," replied the witness.
"And did you find any balls?" the fiscal continued, at which point the sheriff decided it was an opportune time to take a breather.....
