Does anyone know of any?

We are moving to Cambridge this summer and I am looking for a course that will get me onto a BA Hons in Photography. The only course I can find is an access course in Art & Design, which although it includes photography, it's not really what I want to do. I'd rather just focus on Photography.

I'm more than happy to do a distance course to gain access to a degree, but I'd rather not be doing a distance degree. If I'm going to spend loads of money on a BA hons, then I want it to be full time at a uni, otherwise I feel I may miss out on valuable experience that I won't get doing it from home.

We have two years in Cambridge before we move again, to where...I have no idea, other then it will be within the Salisbury Diocese! I just hope it's near a college that offers the degree I want to do haha.:bonk:

Anglia Ruskin Uni lists a BA (Hons) Photography degree. Cambridge Regional College has the Art & Design course.

There's a bit of a conflict in your request though, by specifying Cambridge I assume the options you are looking for are based in and around Cambridge so that you can live from home while studying full-time. But you know you'll be moving in two years time, which would not be long enough to complete a BA degree whether full-time or part-time. You'd rather not do a distance course, although that would initially appear to fit better with your plans?

Combining the best of all the options, ARU will give the intermediate qualification options of Cert Ed, BA and DipHE. After two years you would have an internediate qualification and you'd just need to find an option that would allow you to complete. In your position, I'd contact ARU and speak to the admissions and subject tutors. Explain what you want to do and how your personal circumstances may affect your studies. They are best placed to suggest options. That could be 2 years full-time and then a distance option for the final year, or transferring in the final year to another institution that would accredit the first two years at ARU.

Thank you for you reply :)

Yes, sorry...should have made myself a little clearer lol.
I have two years in Cambridge. In that time I would like to study a course that will give me access to a degree. I won't be doing the degree whilst in Cambridge as I know I won't have enough time to complete it. I'm purely looking for something which will allow me to get on to a degree once I move.

I will get in touch with Anglia Ruskin and see if they can suggest something. Thank you :)

Distance learning courses would also be considerably cheaper if you are having to pay for it yourself. Most uni's now are pushing yearly tuition fees up to the region of £10k per annum over 3 years. So theres £30k straight away for tuition fees at a bricks and mortar institution.

Whereas a BA Hons Photography degree with a distance learning institution like the Open College of Arts costs approximately £6k for the entire degree.
