I have sold a camera on ebay (see other thread) and will post it by courier. As I have had some doubts about the buyer I want to make sure I totally cover my back. One thing I don't want to happen is for the buyer to say I never put the camera in the box, then it would be my word against his. I have read of this happening with high value items like cameras.

I sent a parcel a few years ago with a courier that stated you should not tape the box up because they check the contents when they pick it up to make sure it matches the order description. If they check the contents then I guess I would be totally covered as they would see I had put the camera in the box. Anyone know of a courier company that does this as I can't remember who it was I used before? They came off this site http://www.parcel2go.com/

I don't know of anyone that offers that service.

In the past i've got a third party to confirm it's in the box and then sign the seal, also ensure you photograph the serial number so he doesn't swap it for a previously purchased dud! I would send him a message via ebay messages confirming the process you are going to follow and ask him to reply to say he is happy.

Having said all that if it's a high value item and you have concerns I would simply cancel the transaction, claim a refund on the fees, add him to your ban list and start again!
