my friends have asked me to take some photos of them for there new house to go on the wall so i want to make them impressed but i am worried cause i have said i will do it... but i have no lighting equipment or anything ....all i have is my nikon d40x with the 18-55 kit lens and photoshop any advice to help me out would me much appreciated thanks
 
if you're sitting people down, use natural light or get a difuser for the on camera flash?
i'm sure someone will be through here with more technical help
 
Have you thought about hiring a studio to do the shoot?

I hired one to do a shoot the other day and it was quite good.
 
i like the look of that studio very cheap as well
 
It's not a bad price really and you get all the lighting & backgrounds with it. I also got help with my post processing from ..MD.. and Dellipher on here too so have a little crib sheet that I could type up for you, they are both more qualified thank I though to talk about how to use the lighting so there's not as much need for too much processing
 
You are welcome to use my gear. D3, SB900 and a choice of decent lenses. You could collect and return it all when finished.
