Hi guys, I got a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone more knowledgable than me can answer.

First one is about my camera - Nikon D3100....I've searched the quick start guide and the full PDF manual but I've not really got a conclusive answer: When I want to lock the exposure reading using the AE-L button, does it lock the exposure by pressing and releasing the button or does the button have to be held in?

Second question is about this forum...I've looked and searched but possibly not in the right places as there's millions of posts here....how do I post my photos?

Thanks folks
Steve

i cant help you with the first question because i'm a canonite , but i would expect a nikonoian to be along shortly

on the latter check this thread out
http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=166289

and for info theres a whole bunch of other tutorials on how the forums work etc in the tutorials and guides section

Press and release the button, no need to hold it in. At least on mine that's how it is!

It is your choice, locked only when pressed, locked when pressed and released, and locked when pressed stays locked until pressed again.

For instructions see page 146 of the manual for how to set it up the way you want

Thanks guys....will post some of my photos when I can :)
