Count Dankula

Bullsh** Outside of Nazi Germany 70 plus years ago nobody has ever been free to broadcast "Gas the Jews". You are free to hold that view if you like but you may not video yourself saying it and post in in a public arena, even if you dress it up as a joke.

Not even remotely funny ,and absolutely right for the judge to come down on this cretin . It’s so easy to say it’s just a joke to cover your backside . It’s not a joke it’s the thin end of the wedge . And it’s got sweet FA to do with free speech

It was a truly sickening "joke" by a moron. But at the same time he clearly didn't do it to incite hatred or violence. He deserved a nice loud telling off in public but no more than that.

What the "judgement" did was to undermine the very concept of freedom of speech. Ironically even nazi Germany was putting people behind bars for speech at the start. This is where we are at, and sadly this case is not isolated. Police can't be asked to investigate almost any low level crime but will run after twitter trolls with prosecutions. The country is on the verge of becoming a clone of crony communist China.

Finally I will leave you with this https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1481148/Prince-Harry-faces-outcry-at-Nazi-outfit.html

Maybe our lovely prince should be doing time instead of getting ready for taxpayer funded marriage?!

Just watch out when they get you for saying trans-fats, mother, father or Easter because somebody might find it hateful. It is coming and the precedent has been set.

Like I said why is prince Harry not locked up for the nazi costume?

I suspect Harry wasn't repeatedly saying "Gas the Jews".

There is no publicly available record if that makes you feel good, but in my view these are broadly equivalent. Someone this high up in the royal palace dressed as a nazi is not a joking matter. It is a serious insult to this great country that fought against the horrors of nazi evil in the WW2, an insult to those who died fighting and an insult to the innocent victims of the terror machine. Maybe this is what they really believe in because we've had far worse before https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/news/55750/their-royal-heilnesses/

You can't have double standards like this for the blue bloods, government officials and the commoners in a real democracy.

I still don't think an insult or foul speech should result in prison sentence, but you also have to be consistent with the law, the code of employment or status of public office.

If nobody gave these lunatics a platform they wouldn't do it, that goes for both left and right wing extremists.

Most sane people just ignore this type of rubbish (presume it is, didn't bother to look) seems the current fad is to be outraged at everything and even more stupidly on others behalf.

It isn't just about what is said, but the context. take your link to that great British reliable/truthful newspaper that is the sun. The pictures it features where from 1933 when the National Socialist German Workers' Party was just beginning to assert it's power. Had it been taken in 1943 then that would have been different. (you see context is the thing) Yes the Prince Harry thing was an error of judgement, but he was attending a private party. This Dunkula idiot trains a dog to do the Nazis salute to the command "kill the Jews" and puts it on social media, where is this conviction the end of free speech and democracy?

There are still living people around ,maybe even on this forum that had relatives that ended up in the gas chambers of nazi Germany ,so this cretins remarks are not only illegal but also extremely offensive . Verbal racism is about not only the wording/context it’s about how it’s being said/applied and unless you have ever been on the receiving end of it then the best bet is to keep stume..

All that was needed was large enough public outrage and that would have only had a positive effect to denounce hate speech. Did he really call for people to be killed or was he acting like as an idiot and clearly making a very joke? It appears that he was just being an idiot.

At the same time a lot of people on twitter and fakebook are calling for death on lots of other people, conservatives and various officials in particular. And we see and hear nothing done for that. Yet you tell the obvious there are only men and women you will be fired from your job these days. Double standards and total b******t. And frankly I don't personally care about this idiot being done for what is an outrageous joke but I can see the bigger problem with equality, double standards, and abuse of the freedom of speech.

Oh and if you happened to draw some fictional 7th century character you would get threats of beheading, probably would get beheaded and police would do nothing about it. Are YOU happy with that? This is your life now.

Where is your outrage here http://www.breitbart.com/london/201...urvivor-stabbed-11-times-anti-semitic-attack/
Where is the outrage against Corbyn for supporting anti-semitic terrorist organisation Hamas?
Where is your outrage for Pamela Geller (and lots of others) banned from UK for standing up against the oppression of jews? See the picture already?

These are real life threats these poor people are facing as opposed to an insulting and stupid and failed but obvious joke. Well the joke is now on all of us.

Ah bless LLP is back on the rant, posting links to Briebart
Pretty sure Corbyn is facing some outrage for anti semetic ideas/inaction. Quite a large protest and he's been forced to apologise
Then standing up for Pamela Geller, the anti-Islam activist, hate-monger, and diehard Trump supporter, right wing troll, who's built a career off leveraging the media to incite outrage with her racist, Islamophobic comments

Nice work sir, completely up to your usual low standards

As for social media shock jocks, trying to create a following for the revenue or fame, why shouldn't they be held to account. More power to those who do

People killed = don't post links to "Breibart"
racist, any *ist or *phobe = person I really disagree with
Trump supporter = person I really really really disagree with
right wing = anyone to the right of marxism

Really? You support twitter death threats? I hope everyone will pay attention to this and take yourself and the rest of hard left at the face value. You are unable to debate any issues therefore resort to calling of names and banning speech. This is the problem we all face and must resist.

Or in your case:

Left wing = anyone to the left of Alex Jones

He is more or less a libertarian or classical liberal so that lands him sort of in the middle. So - yes. At least I'm open about it and don't try to silence people.

I think someone's carer is on holiday.

Can’t the above post about Alex Jones be put into some kind of forum Hall of Fame?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

wait........

Probably needed a fortnight respite break, feel like I do after reading some of those inane rants

I do wonder, as he’s an intelligent chap, if he’s just on a wind up. Not actually sure if that’s better or worse?

Here's the "no no I'm not a Jew hater" with his renowned liberal lefty mate Tommy Robinson.

One of my neighbours is similar, intelligent bloke who you can have a chat with about many subjects.
That is until anything drifts around to "foreigners" then its exactly the same as matey on here.
Somehow believes everyone from the subcontinent belong to some sort of leftie protected fifth column and before long we will be off to morning prayer.

So no, don't think it is a wind up, just a strange red mist that descends at times, perfectly rational until that happens

Despite finding much of the content of the video abhorrent and unfunny, I'm in full agreement with Shappi Khorsandi and don’t feel that a 'hate crime' was committed. Although the choice of words are unfortunate, the premise of the video was that of a 'joke' - the training of the dog into emulating the 'worst type of person' - a Nazi. One definition I have read of a 'hate crime' is 'a crime motivated by racial, sexual or other prejudice', I don’t think that the video makers motivation in making the film was prejudice or hatred however misguided and unpalatable the content.

I think censorship in society can be a dangerous road to go down and can’t help be reminded of the quote 'I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it'.

But we have always had censorship, you can argue about the level. Lets not forget Lady Chatterley's Lover was banned at one time. There are certain words I can't use on here.

I think freedom of speech is often the bit, that is miss used. I think it is right that Political parties have the right to have there own views, otherwise we can't have a "free society" and using the likes of Britain first as an example. Whilst it is right that they can say People who do not have an English heritage (whatever that may mean to them) should go home (could be interesting considering how long some people can trace there ancestry to the UK) It is wrong for them to just state (insert whatever derogatory term for an ethnic minority you can think of here) go home. To me any right comes with a certain amount of responsibility.

"(insert whatever derogatory term for an ethnic minority you can think of here)" you see I could have used many different words here as I have "freedom of speech" but I didn't because I and I am sure many on here would find them inappropriate. So there is my "Responsibility"

I do not normally take part in this type of discussion as they tend to descend into personal insults, but in this case I will as this is the principle I was brought up with and I still live by it.

"I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it."

This is exactly how it started in 1918 Russia and the early nazi Germany... by giving up the rights and surrendering to gun control, then thought control. Sadly too many are brainwashed to follow the big brother and self censorship beyond the point of return which is very sad. I think there is still some hope with some people and if we get Rees-Mogg (go and melt down right here) soon enough we may still be OK as a society.

You are heavily engaged in self-censorship to a point you cannot stand up for your views, your values and your believes - whatever they may be - in fear of offending somebody. In a healthy society people can co-habitate and can freely express themselves just fine. You may be aware that I don't exactly have "English heritage" however that doesn't stop me from living in the society as a fully integrated person, respecting the culture, history and traditional values of the land (not this globalist PC faux-liberal crap - sorry!). I don't go on about interfering with the lives of my neighbours whoever they may be or whatever is their lifestyle. That does not mean I am unable to express my opinion or even wish Happy Easter because some bloody snowflake is looking for a reason to be outraged. Your mentality is feeding them.

Excellent. We even have the "5 minutes of hate"

I don't have to be supportive of either of them but let me ask you where exactly did Mr Robinson expressed hatred against Jews to presumably prove the point that both "mates" hate jews?
If I remember correctly Mr Robinson has been working as some sort of journalist (doesn't matter if successful or not) and freedom of speech was likely the topic of their meeting? I could be totally off the chart as I'm just guessing but that seems very reasonable guess.

Call it what you like, I call it being civil. Nothing wrong with it, certainly doesn't stop me expressing an opinion. Just maybe some of us can be more articulate in how we express ourselves.

I think someone's carer is on holiday.

If you really don't like the idea of freedom of speech then you should be in jail for offending my feelings. See how this works? But I think we are just dealing with a troll :P

In an ideal world we should all be civil, absolutely, Are we all ideal? No, far from it. Perhaps we should just learn to be more forgiving to some occasional mean words, speak out and try to engage in a productive debate instead. Debates can touch some feelings and that's fine. Throwing people to jail for going off the tangent is not where we want to be. This includes saying crap jokes, calling someone wrong gender, getting some NHS financial numbers wrong in a leaflet, jaywalking across empty street (you've seen the news from China?) and so on... One day we are all slightly in the wrong and I bet you will agree that serious punishments ought to be reserved for serious crime and actually dangerous people to the society but certainly not to prevailing political party or ideology (politically) since then we would have an out of control tyranny with no opposition. Someone out there will always feel offended and that is absolutely not a reason to limit speech. Do we lock up Farage next? Maybe Rees-Mogg? I bet someone feels offended out there.

I'm all for freedom of speech.
It's f'in unattended idiots I struggle with. ;)

Because I agree that he should be held to account, agree that the law look into idiots that promote shock videos just to increase their viewers and advertising revenues, suddenly I'm supporting twitter death threats? Where exactly have I said this?

I'm really not to sure what LLP's flying off the handle rants bring to Talk Photography
