Yes
If anyone gets a spare few moments would appreciate any comments on the website I have created

http://photographeradam.co.uk/

There is a lack of content at the minute so please do ignore that it will come with time

The aim was someone to display my work no business involved at all with it

Any ideas also very welcome was thinking maybe a guest book page but not sure if it would make it look cheap

Take it from a web designer (me) you are better off keeping the site closed until you have a decent level of content, but at least you hav'nt resorted to 'under construction' pages.

Another point worth mentioning is that it's a bit hard to tell the difference between 'content' and 'albums' I would suggest using one or the other and perhaps renaming to portfolio which is the more traditional wording for it.

You could also use a page giving a bit of information about yourself because the website is called behind the lens but only features what is in front of the lens.

Oh one other point (and I'm being picky) Is your website www.photographeradam.co.uk or http://photographeradam.co.uk?

It's important to not create confusion there because believe it or not they are considered two different websites and usually having setup a www. website we would usually add a 301 redirect to add the www. at the beginning to not cause confusion to any visitors or web crawlers.

I'm also in the trade and agree with Jamie.

What is your aim for the site? Is it to show off your pictures or to sell your services etc.?
The site needs to clearly convey why it exists. I would take time out to plan the site content and structure with that aim in mind.

Thank you both much very much I'll put together a about page to hopefully clear up the sites aim?

Nope that's not being picky this is the sort of great information I need :-)

I think the httpis redirected to the wwwi typed in https://photographeradam.co.uk and it seemed to go to www. I haven't done this on purpose though so guessing host provider is doing it automatically somehow using the parked domain ?

At the moment without the www it does show the site but it does not permanently redirect to www.
You need to create a permament redirect (301) from non www to www. This is done differently depending on your hosting. If you're on linux then you can do this with an htaccess file in the root of your site or perhaps even with a setting in your hosting panel. If you are hosted on a windows server then you may have to ask your host to do this in the config files, or again perhapos with a setting in your control panel.

Hi Adam,

It's nice, but in my opinion, the image in the middle. I had to think before knowing that I had to click the photo to go to the next one. Maybe add some click able arrows or possibly a message saying "Click to see next photograph..." or something like that.

Thanks.

I love the design - it's very simple and nice and clean. I like the darkness and the overall feel.

I like the albums page, you just need more photos in there.

I think you don't need the "content" page. It makes no sense - it's the same content as your Albums page but in a different format, so I would just let it go.

Instead, I would have other pages like "Services", "About" and "Contact"

Best of luck with it, good start!
